Jamie Wesolowski

Jamie Wesolowski attended Indiana State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Organismal Biology in 2008. She then completed her veterinary technology training at the Bel‑Rea Institute, graduating top 10 in her class in 2010. In 2015, Jamie entered the field of oncology, and in 2021, she achieved her Veterinary Technician Specialist (Oncology) credential—becoming the first VTS (Oncology) in the state of Indiana. She spent 10 years at MedVet Indianapolis before transitioning into national oncology consulting work for practices across the United States for 1.5 years.

In 2024, Jamie joined Partner Veterinary as a remote VTS in Medical Oncology, where she performs pre‑visit consultations to educate clients on diagnosis, staging, treatment options, protocols, and cost estimates. Her work has streamlined patient flow, improved access to timely care, and enhanced client preparedness. This model has also greatly benefited anxious pets by reducing in‑clinic stress and offering dedicated, uninterrupted education time before their first appointment.

Jamie is deeply involved in professional leadership and oncology education. She currently serves as the Veterinary Cancer Society (VCS) Technician Member‑At‑Large, Chair of the VCS Technician Development Committee, and 2024 VCS Technician Conference Program Chair. She also volunteers with the Pet Cancer Foundation, contributing peer review and educational development. Jamie has created multiple advanced panel series for nurses and residents, covering topics including advanced diagnostics, radiation‑therapy side‑effect management, research and medical writing skills, and more. She has also established a new certificate‑based educational pathway for veterinary technicians and is working toward a collaborative subcommittee structure within VCS to strengthen resources across medical, radiation, interventional, integrative, and pathology oncology.

Jamie is also currently authoring/editor a first‑of‑its‑kind advanced oncology nursing book with Wiley Publishing, designed to support highly trained oncology nurses seeking deeper clinical knowledge and specialization.

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, and their two dogs—Kyra, a 7‑year‑old McNab, and Rowan, a 4‑year‑old Akita/Cattle Dog mix. She is a proud beagle enthusiast, an avid gardener and plant lover, a fan of the Indiana Pacers, and enjoys Harley rides, hiking, crafting, reading, and playing pickleball.
