ESVONC Nurses
ESVONC Nurses is ideal opportunity for colleagues who have specialist interest and training in oncology medicine to further their knowledge and advance the profession. Established in May 2025, it is a group within the ESVONC organisation that promotes excellence in the nursing management and quality care for animals affected by cancer across Europe.
ESVONC respectfully recognises the integral role which nurses, technicians and veterinary care-givers collectively bring to patient treatment as well as the compassionate support we provide to these animal’s families. In doing so, as part of the long established ESVONC framework, the society wishes our nursing community to evolve alongside our clinicians and doctors, taking the lead in developing areas of our work and improving accessibility of cancer care across our community.
Our mission:
As members, ESVONC Nurses will advocate on behalf of patients and the profession to ensure respect and recognition, access to education and safe working environments.
Our goals:
- To provide a safe and inclusive environment for Veterinary Nurses, Technicians and other caregivers to be educated and supported in providing cancer care for veterinary patients
- To foster excellence through all elements of oncology nursing and the administration of quality patient care
- To preserve animal welfare, inclusive of physical and mental wellbeing throughout cancer care treatment
- To reduce the risk of occupational exposure from working with cytotoxic/cytotoxic medicines an ionising radiation
- To support education and career development in the field of oncology nursing
