Job Title: Resident in Oncology

Salary: £37,000 p.a. (year 1), £39,500 p.a. (year 2) and £42,000 p.a. (year 3)

Location: Southfields Veterinary Specialists

Job Type: 3-year fixed term

Hours: 45 hours per week, the role includes on-call duties out-of-hours and at weekends.

 

Your role and responsibilities

We are an outgoing and friendly team looking for enthusiastic, hard-working vets willing to be part of the Oncology and Radiation Oncology Service at Southfields Veterinary Specialists, currently formed of five senior clinicians, one residents and one intern, as well as a supporting team of veterinary nurses, therapeutic radiographers and patient care assistants. Southfields is one of only few hospitals in the UK offering radiotherapy, so this is a unique opportunity to be exposed to the full range of treatment 
Oncology residents at Southfields follow a supervised standard ECVIM training program mentored by a senior clinician. The residency training programme is built up in close collaboration with other services at Southfields, including Internal Medicine, Imaging, Surgery, Neurology etc. The resident will have an allocated research project from the first year in order to develop it during the residency. The resident should be committed to developing the practice and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons.
