Introducing Australian Companion Animal Registry of Cancers (ACARCinom)

We would like to inform you about the launch of the Australian Companion Animal Registry of Cancers (ACARCinom), the Australia’s first national registry of cat and dog cancer, funded by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).

Having reliable data is crucial for understanding the patterns of cancer, guide best practices in animal cancer care, pinpoint cancer hotspots and help drive research and reduce cancer burden.

ACARCinom is led by veterinary pathologist Prof Chiara Palmieri of the University of Queensland, in collaboration with the University of Sydney, Gribbles Veterinary Pathology, IDEXX, University of Adelaide, Murdoch University and Queensland University of Technology.

This project represents a remarkable collaboration that harnesses the power of data to unlock new insights and drive progress in the field of veterinary oncology.

If you want more information about the project, do not hesitate to reach out (c.palmieri@uq.edu.au).
