27/08/2020: Service-specific Internship in Small Animal Oncology, Anderson-Moores, Winchester

We are a rapidly growing oncology service at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists (AMVS)  looking for an oncology intern. AMVS is a busy, multi-disciplinary, small animal referral practice located within the Hampshire countryside. The hospital is close to the historic city of Winchester (which is 1 hour from London by train).

We have a varied caseload of unusual and challenging cases and a close-knit, enthusiastic team. We continue to expand our clinical services and believe in a team approach to challenging cases. AMVS accepts referrals in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, pain management and physiotherapy. Our Specialist Clinicians are supported by a team of highly qualified registered veterinary nurses, nursing assistants and rotating and specialist interns and residents across multiple disciplines.

AMVS has modern equipment, including radiography, echocardiography, electrocardiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, MRI, CT and a chemotherapy suite.

We are offering a one-year Oncology Internship position to veterinarians wishing to advance their clinical training in oncology. The oncology team currently consists of a boarded specialist in oncology (Dip.ACVIM), oncology clinician (RCVS advanced practitioner), two full time oncology nurses and one oncology technician. The service is also supported by rotating residents and interns from other services. The oncology intern will be involved in consultations, assessment, diagnostic procedures and treatment of oncology cases and contribute to the on-call rota.
