Position for Medical Oncologist or Internal Medicine Specialist at the Division of Radiation Oncology, Vetsuisse-Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland.

The Department of Small Animals, Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich, Switzerland, invites applications for a position in the Division of Radiation Oncology at the „Oberarzt“-level (corresponds a senior clinician level).

The position will be part of a dynamic team of the Division of Radiation Oncology and will be available as of January 2020, or as agreed upon.

The Division of Radiation Oncology is providing the clinic’s oncology service (e.g. medical oncology is an integral part of the Division of Radiation Oncology and separate from Internal Medicine). However, strong collaborations with the other divisions and clinics are well established and intensely cultivated.

Responsibilities will focus on clinical service, teaching and mentoring of students, interns and residents.

Candidates must have strong communication skills, the desire to work collaboratively with the referring veterinary community, and a willingness to teach and mentor. Specialty board certification or board eligibility (ECVIM-oncology or ACVIM-Oncology, alternatively ECVIM-SIAM / ACVIM) is mandatory. German communications skills learning will be strongly supported.

The Small Animal Clinic of the Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich is a state-of-the-art referral clinic, with a 24-hour emergency service and specialty appointments (board certified specialists) in all disciplines. The oncology premises include consultation rooms, a multipurpose treatment and chemotherapy administration area as well as linac facilities. Radiation oncology is equipped with a high-end linear accelerator. Radiology services include digital radiography, ultrasonography, computerized tomography, MRI. Clinical services are supported by paraclinical services (pathology, virology, parasitology, bacteriology, etc.). The candidate also will have the opportunity to collaborate with an active group of basic oncology researchers at the Faculty.
