Our local organizing team, consisting of Dr. Martin Kessler and Dr. Sandra Kühnel from Hofheim Small Animal Clinic are both very actively involved in charity work taking care of African wildlife through AWARE, which is a conservation trust in Zimbabwe run by veterinarians. AWARE focuses on endangered wildlife and conservation of their habitats through many activities, including monitoring and anti-poaching programs for rhinoceros, elephants, lions and other endangered species. AWARE also performs castration/vaccination campaigns for dogs in poor rural areas, and is involved in educational programs for the public as well as in some research projects. For further information please refer to the AWARE Zimbabwe website at www.awaretrust.org or for AWARE Germany at www.aware-germany.de. At the ESONC meeting AWARE will have an information stand in the industrial exhibition of the congress venue to provide further information to those interested in AWARE’s activities.
During the registration process for the congress, you will be given the option to voluntarily donate 5€ to the AWARE trust.
